Valencia, your best choice!

Updated: Feb 23

Here is my opinion, why you are making a good decision in coming to live in Valencia.

Great life quality

Residents of this city enjoy the outdoor lifestyle, taking advantage of the 200 km of cycle paths through the city, the extensive city beach, the 8 km of the Turia park, hanging out with friends and family, playing sports, relaxing. These activities can be done at any time of the year, as the weather is always pleasant. These characteristics make the people around you in this city joyfull as they have found a healthy work life balance. This positivism spread a great energy to everyone's around lifes. Come and get energized!

Easy to feel at home

It is very easy to adapt to the valencian way of life. The city's social activity is always vibrating and it´s varied and welcoming, with something for everyone’s taste. The city is also the perfect size for getting around easily - to a friend's house, to work, to a meeting place - whether by bike, on foot or by public transport.

Also, Valencia has a large expat community, which will slightly reduce the culture shock of moving to a new country. City Council figures show that 133,568 of Valencia’s residents are expats..

Affordable cost of living

The city's wide and varied range of services makes its cost of living adaptable to all budgets.

Thanks to its affordable public transport network, easy access to quality gastronomy, accessible public and private health care and diverse leisure options, the city adapts to the possibilities of all its residents. Of course, it depends on the lifestyle you lead.

Its amazing beaches

Not all cities are lucky enough to presume beaches as beautiful as Valencia’s.The sand is golden, the water is crystal clear and the temperature is perfect.

Any of the beaches in or near the city are a recurring meeting point for residents, regardless of the time of year.

Valencia’s wonderful weather

If there is one thing that characterizes the Valencian capital, it is the great weather that you can enjoy the whole year. Temperatures are mild and moderate all year round and you can enjoy at least 300 days of sunshine!

Job opportunities

Valencia is not only an ideal place to enjoy life, but also to work. The city has a growing economy, driven by sectors such as technology, tourism and industry. This brings a diversity of job opportunities that makes living and working in Valencia an attractive option for many.

At the moment, Valencia is home to a growing network of companies, so job opportunities are now easier to find. However, It is advisable to know some Spanish in order to find a job.

Education

As expected, education in Spain is free and compulsory.

For this reason, if you register your child at the Education Department of the City Hall, you will immediately get a list of public schools with space for your child -you will need to be registered in your local council (local census) before you can enroll your child in a public school. If you are not satisfied with the options, Valencia has a wide range of private schools: American, British, German, French, etc.

Valencia also has public and private Universities. Both with wide English programs.

As a consequence of it known University, Valencia has a large Erasmus community.

Accessible Healthcare

Any foreigner who resides in the Valencian Community and is paying Social Security contributions is entitled to public health care.

However, if you arrive and are not yet entitled to it, there are several options for private healthcare for expatriates in Valencia. It will depend on your individual circumstances.

Its connection

Valencia is well connected with the rest of the world. Its airport, located 15 minutes from the city by car, operates a large number of flights. In addition, you can travel by train to cities such as Madrid in less than 2 hours, Barcelona, Cuenca and Cordoba. Or a 3 hour drive to Madrid or Barcelona.

I have lived in several cities, but none like Valencia! Count on me, I'm waiting for you!
